Ceremony Design
The moment guests see your ceremony arch is the moment they understand what kind of wedding this is going to be. More than any other floral element, the ceremony arch sets the visual tone, creates the backdrop for your most photographed moment, and frames the faces of two people making the most important promise of their lives.
At Aura Design Flowers, we approach every ceremony arch as a work of art, designed in precise relationship to your venue's architecture, your personal aesthetic, and the light that will fall on it at the exact time of your ceremony. We have designed hundreds of ceremony structures across Miami's most spectacular venues, and we understand exactly how scale, proportion, texture, and color work together to create something that doesn't just look beautiful in the moment, but photographs brilliantly and holds up through a full ceremony.
The iconic ceremony arch, a rounded or square structure entirely covered in flowers and greenery from base to top. These designs are abundant, romantic, and timeless. We design them in every palette: all-white for a classic look, blush and cream for soft romance, tropical brights for maximum impact, and deep burgundy and green for dramatic, moody ceremonies.
One of the most popular modern styles: flowers and greenery concentrated on one side or one corner of the arch, cascading naturally downward. This style feels organic and artistic, less "decorated" and more "grown", and it tends to photograph beautifully because it creates movement and depth in images.
Circular arch structures have become one of the most beloved ceremony formats. The perfect circle creates a powerful, symbolic frame, and it looks extraordinary in photos. We design moon gates with full floral coverage, half-coverage, or concentrated florals at the base and crown, depending on your aesthetic.
A more architectural choice, triangular arches create a dramatic geometric statement. We design these with everything from minimalist greenery accents to full floral coverage, often incorporating macramé or wooden elements for texture.
For ceremonies where a freestanding arch isn't the right fit, either because of venue rules or stylistic preference, we design matching altar arrangements or paired column installations that flank the couple and create a defined ceremony space with beautiful floral framing on either side.
For indoor ceremonies, a flower wall backdrop creates a stunning frame without the structural requirements of a freestanding arch. These work beautifully at hotel ballrooms and venues where rigging or structural installation isn't possible.
Each of Miami's premier wedding venues presents unique design opportunities, and we approach every arch design in relationship to the specific space.
Vizcaya Museum & Gardens: At Vizcaya, we let the architecture lead. A delicate, structured arch with refined garden roses and trailing ivy complements the ornate stonework without competing with it.
Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden: At Fairchild, we lean into the tropical landscape. An arch of bird of paradise, orchids, and lush tropical foliage feels like a natural extension of the garden itself.
Beachfront Venues: Outdoor coastal ceremonies call for arches designed to handle sea breeze and direct sunlight. We use hardy tropical blooms, ensure secure installation at beach venues, and time delivery carefully.
The Ancient Spanish Monastery: The stone cloisters and Gothic architecture call for romantic, slightly wild designs, trailing jasmine, abundant garden roses, and soft ferns.
Ballroom Venues: Grand indoor ballrooms like The Biltmore, St. Regis, and Fontainebleau offer architectural neutrality, we can go as dramatic or as restrained as the couple desires.
Months Before: We work with you on the concept, refining color palettes, bloom selections, and structural approach. For complex arches, we may create design sketches or reference boards.
A Week Before: Flowers are ordered from our trusted local and international growers. For seasonal or specialty blooms, we confirm sourcing well in advance.
Day of the Ceremony: Our team arrives at your venue 3 to 6 hours before the ceremony begins. We set up the structural frame, install the floral design, and make all final adjustments.
During the Ceremony: Large installations may have a team member on-site through the ceremony for last-minute adjustments, particularly for outdoor installations.
Your ceremony arch is just one element of a complete wedding floral story. The most stunning weddings carry visual consistency from the arch through to the aisle design, the bridal bouquet, and the reception centerpieces. When we design your ceremony flowers as part of a full wedding floral package, we ensure every element shares the same language of color, texture, and style.
Ceremony arches vary widely in price depending on the size of the structure, the flowers selected, and the complexity of the installation. We provide detailed, transparent proposals for every client, contact us to discuss your vision and receive a custom quote.
Yes. If you have a specific flower in mind, we'll work to source it. We'll also advise you on seasonal availability and suggest beautiful alternatives if something isn't available on your wedding date.
We focus on the floral design. We work with your venue or with trusted structural rental partners who provide arch frames in a variety of sizes and shapes.
We select blooms that are heat-tolerant, condition flowers carefully before installation, use water tubes where needed, and time delivery to minimize sun exposure.
