The Kampong, meaning 'village' in Malay, was the winter home of David Fairchild, the renowned botanist who introduced thousands of plant species to the United States. The nine-acre property features rare tropical fruits, exotic palms, flowering trees, and a 1920s-era residence overlooking Biscayne Bay. The National Tropical Botanical Garden now manages the estate.
Weddings at The Kampong are intimate affairs, typically accommodating 50 to 150 guests. Ceremonies take place on the waterfront lawn or beneath the canopy of mature tropical trees.
